I am not used to buying visual novels that cost more than ten dollars, but this game has completely sold me. Don't ask yourself if its worth the price. If you like storytelling and a little bit of sentimentality, it's easily a great value.. This game has an amazing story and well developed characters. I highly recommend this game. With that said, there are only a few decisions to make, and they come towards the end of the game, but I think that give the decisions more wieght as you deciede on who become center all that means for all the girls.. Pretty much a perfect mix of story and fan-service. Tons of content. Absolutely worth it. Another spectacular work by Love in Space.. Ignore the low playtime as i have completed the game through a Denpasoft download provided by backerkit. So what can i say about shining song starnova? First it must be noted that the production values are great and the best yet for a game made by love in space, featuring some nice animations, movies, CG's and of course the main attraction for this game it's soundtrack. The storyline plots however are in my opinion of mixed quality. This is love in spaces largest undertaking project in terms of word count and length and the extra volume doesn't reward in some instances. The main storyline up until the choices is good giving us a little snippet of the idol world and each of the heroines and their personalities, when it comes to each of the storylines though this is when it becomes mixed imo. I wont go into details of specific storylines as this will spoil the game/visual novel for others however, i can note that i enjoyed the storylines for: Nattan, Aki, Mariya and Mika although i think the pacing was probably somewhat off for Mika's. The other storylines for Nemu, Sasami and Julie however, i did not enjoy so much. Issues with pacing, subject matter and how it was dealt with and also plausibility of some of the plot twists and the scenarios involved didn't appear convincing or alternatively brushed over significant matters trivialising some in certain aspects which if explored deeper may have led to a richer more rewarding conclusion to the individual heroines storyline. Despite some issues with certain storylines this game/visual novel is still an enjoyable experience and a nice attempt by Love in Space to attempt a different IP with some familiarity brought across from previous attempts. Is this game worth the price they charge i can't tell you honestly yes or no as i am undecided myself having backed the project, this is something i recommend you work out for yourself by trying the demo that is available. In conclusion there is enough to this game for me to give it a 7/10 mainly as a result of the production values, this isn't Love in Spaces finest work but, with a new IP teething issues can be expected and it still provides hours of entertainment regardless.. i wanted to wait until i finished the game entirely to write a review, but i couldn't. it was just so incredibly good. it's rare that i take the time to write a full length review for a game and not just a few sentences as a joke.shining song starnova is the story of 7 idols, all with troubled pasts, who come together to try and make it big. you play as the producer* who's nameless and just goes by producer but like. whatever. it's funny and it works. the fact that this vn is het was initially a turn off for me. i typically only play gl stuff. i'm a lesbian, i dont wanna love women as a man. i wanna love women as a woman! but im a sucker for idols so i gave in anyways. *Note: the main creator of the vn stated that while they would have liked to make this a gl vn, the producer being male worked with the main theme of this visual novel: corruption in the idol industry. that made me feel a whole lot better about things! it really wouldn't have been the same had the producer been a womanthe main route is really good. most common routes before it branches off tend to be boring but it was actually really really good?? it took me ~20 hours to read through it with a few breaks in between. eventually you reach a point where you can pick which route you want to pursue, i.e. picking a center for the future of the group. sasami's can only be completed once you've finished the other 6 routes. i'm assuming hers is like the true end which definitely fits with the story. i remember thinking the whole way through that she's the most logical pick for the center.as of now i've only completed mariya and mika's routes, so i can't speak for them all, but just those two were absolutely AMAZING. i got to know their characters really well and connect with them even more than i had in the main route. each route is completely unique and tells a totally different story of where starnova could go as a group. there's no overlap whatsoever, so no need to skip through tons of text. i really really love that about this vn. the girls are all unique and have different pasts, so logically their stories and the way they lead the unit would be different as well. i can't wait to play the other routes!!all in all, i would absolutely recommend picking this up if you love visual novels and/or idols!!! i'm having a blast with it and i'm super excited to finish it completely!! (i got it on sale but it's absolutely worth the full price!). Amazing visual novel. I loved all the routes. I have yet to complete Nemu and therefore, Sasami, but I've loved each route in their uniqueness. Almost every route has brought me to tears in some parts. Each story is so well-written and emotional and inspiring. Even the hentai scenes which I enabled, were well done. This is a fantastic VN.
